The JFK Half Dollar first minted in 1964 was intended as a memorial to the assasination of President John F. Kennedy. It is still minted today but rarely seen as they have not been released into circulation for over 10 years. The design is steeped in history, but the watchs quartz movement is state-of-the-art.
