So, just what IS a Padparasha Sapphire?

Well, a number of years ago, in a mining district of India called Padparadsha, they used to find a really intense reddish orange Sapphire. Youll still see one occasionally come out of there, but every one Ive ever seen had ugly written all over it -- cloudy, cracked, oxidized and weathered. In fact, Ive never ever seen a good one, but I hear the older guys talk about them with reverence -- it was apparently a spectacular stone.

Anyway, weve found a source for the same stone, except its lab created. Its a bright reddish/orange that is a dead ringer for the original -- totally eye clean and well cut. Our pictures just dont do this stone justice -- its like the stones are on fire. Flash and sparkle like youve never seen.

The ring itself is bordering on simply too large for many women to wear, but if you can handle a bigun, youre gonna love this! This is a fasinating braided filigree mounting that holds the 14x10mm Mystic Fire in with 10 prongs. What a cool ring! Great, solid, and good for everyday wear, but will do nicely for evening wear if youve a mind to.
