The JFK Half Dollar was first minted in 1964 to honor President John F. Kennedy. It was designed by Gilroy Roberts and Frank Gasparro. The obverse features a bust of Kennedy while the reverse displays the Presidential Seal. The first year of issue coin is composed of 90% silver. The coin was reduced to 40% silver in 1965.
